Dr. Laura Stewart is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized training in the neurobiology of trauma and addiction. Dr. Stewart has worked with chronic pain clients as well as clients struggling with addiction and past trauma. She has been an advocate for comprehensive pain management and believes mental health is a core component of the healing process.
Dr. Stewart has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Arizona State University, a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Her clinical training was focused on the neurobiology of PTSD at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She is an active member of NAN (National Academy of Neuropsychology) and AzPA (Arizona Psychological Association).
Dr. Stewart utilizes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy in her practice. This neuro-biologically based modality helps clients reprocess traumatic memories in a healthier way. Dr. Stewart has found this treatment highly effective with patients with chronic pain, addiction and past trauma. While not working, Dr. Stewart enjoys spending time with her husband and three children at their home in Phoenix.
